Look For The Good - Part 2

Occasionally I have the opportunity to do some hospice work (another of my passions). Recently, I was visiting a couple here in Austin. The husband had been recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. As I sat in their living room and got to know them a bit, the thing that struck me about the wife was that every word she spoke about her husband was loving, kind and pure. As she spoke these beautiful words he beamed with joy at her. It was clear that I was seeing first hand a wonderful marriage.  As she spoke these beautiful words about her partner of 60 + years I knew immediately that she had spent most, if not all of those years meditating on the good in him and it was beautiful to see. I left their home feeling like I had received more than I had given. I left their home feeling like I had just been in the presence of greatness. Friends, let’s look for the good in our spouse, and in others.
